To add an Xtream login, open Settings → Playlist → Add playlist in AromaOtt Player, choose the Xtream login tab, and enter the server URL, username and password your provider gave you. Select Check playlist; when it shows Playlist found and the date the line is valid until, save it. It becomes your active playlist.

What do I need?

  • A signed-in member account with a running subscription.
  • Three details from your provider: the server URL (for example http://example.com:8080), your username and your password.
  • Your provider must allow members to add their own playlists.

AromaOtt Player has no channels or content of its own; it plays what the server you enter provides. Only add lines you are entitled to use.

How do I add it, step by step?

  1. Open Settings → Playlist, or Add playlist on the home screen of the app when nothing is loaded yet.
  2. Select Add playlist (or Add another playlist).
  3. Choose the Xtream login tab.
  4. Type the Server URL. Include the port if your provider gave you one. If you leave out http://, the player adds it.
  5. Type your Username and Password. Use Show to check the password before you continue.
  6. Optionally, give the playlist a name. Without one, it is called "AromaOtt".
  7. Select Check playlist. The player logs in and shows the server, the number of channels, movies and series it found, and Line valid until with the date.
  8. Select Save playlist (in the app: Load it now).

The player then loads your lists. On first load a loading screen shows Live TV, Movies and Series coming in, with a soft chime when they are ready.

What can go wrong during the check?

What extra information does an Xtream login give?

Because the server answers questions about the line, the player can show more than for an M3U link:

  • Line valid until: the end date of the line, shown after the check and in your list of playlists.
  • Expiry notice: a notice once a day when the line ends within 7 days.
  • Connection limit: how many streams the line allows at once, when the server reports it. It also appears in Diagnostics.
  • Separate sections: Live TV, Movies and Series come from their own lists on the server.

Why was my login saved as M3U?

Some servers block their Xtream interface for outside players but still serve the M3U form of the same line. When that happens, AromaOtt Player tries the M3U form, and if it works, saves the playlist as M3U and tells you in the result. It plays normally; only the expiry date is unknown.

Which live format does it use?

On playlists that play on your device, the app uses MPEG-TS for live channels by default, which keeps one connection to your provider. If channels do not start, you can switch the playlist to HLS in Settings → Player → Live stream format.

Where is my password kept?

The username and password you enter are saved with your account so the player can load the line. For playlists that play on your device, the app receives them over your signed-in connection and keeps them in its private storage. They are never shown in Diagnostics, and they are used only to reach that server. The privacy page explains this in detail.

How do I update or remove it?

In Settings → Playlist, use Refresh to check the line again (for example after a renewal, to update the date), Rename to change its name, and Remove to delete it.

Questions and answers

What is the server URL?

The address of your provider's server, usually with a port, for example http://example.com:8080. Your provider gives it to you with the username and password.

Why does the player show a date after the check?

Xtream servers report when the line ends. The player shows it as Line valid until, and warns you a few days before.

My login was saved as M3U. Why?

Some servers block the Xtream interface but still serve the M3U form of the same line. The player then saves it as M3U so it can still play.
