32 to 75-inch TVs: does screen size change the player setup?

No. A 32, 43, 55, 65 or 75-inch TV follows the same steps. What matters is the TV's platform, its chip and panel rate, and how it upscales the picture.

No: the screen size does not change how you install or set up AromaOtt Player. A 32, 43, 50, 55, 65 or 75-inch TV follows the same steps as any other set of its family. What changes the menus and the playback is the platform (Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV, Tizen, webOS or plain Android), the firmware version, the chip, the panel's refresh rate and how the TV upscales the picture.

Why do the guides not go by size?

Settings do not depend on screen size. A brand usually sells the same software across its whole range of sizes, so a 43-inch and a 65-inch model of the same year have the same menus. Meanwhile, two 55-inch sets from different brands can run completely different systems. That is why every guide here is written per platform and brand family. Find your platform first, then follow that guide.

What actually makes a difference?

Factor Why it matters
Platform Decides whether the app can be installed, and which menus you see
Firmware version Moves and renames settings; can fix or cause playback problems
Chip Decides which video formats, such as HEVC or 4K, the TV can decode
Panel rate (50/60 Hz, 100/120 Hz) Decides whether broadcast channels at 50 frames per second look smooth
Upscaling Decides how an HD channel looks on a 4K panel

What is common for each size?

These are typical, not rules; check your own model's specifications.

  • 32 inch: often an HD or Full HD panel, a modest chip, sometimes plain Android without Google Play. 4K streams may not play.
  • 40 and 43 inch: Full HD or 4K, depending on the model. Many budget sets with Android sit here.
  • 50 and 55 inch: mostly 4K. The most common living-room sizes, with the widest choice of platforms.
  • 58, 65 and 70 inch: 4K, often with more picture processing and sometimes 100/120 Hz panels.
  • 75 inch and up: 4K, larger panels that make the source quality more visible.

Does a bigger screen need a better stream?

It shows the stream's quality more clearly. On a 65 or 75-inch set, an HD channel is enlarged more and soft edges or compression become easier to see. The player cannot make a stream sharper; it plays what the provider sends. The TV's upscaling and motion processing decide how it looks. If fast motion shows artefacts, try switching motion smoothing off for live channels.

Does the panel's refresh rate matter?

Yes, more than the size. Many broadcast channels run at 50 frames per second, while TV menus run at 60 Hz. A TV that switches to 50 Hz for such channels shows smoother motion, but each switch can blank the screen for a moment. If the picture cuts only in full screen, frame-rate matching is the first thing to check. From version 2.2.7, the player adds Settings → Player → Match TV refresh rate (off by default) and Video output (Automatic, Surface, Texture).

Does a 4K TV play everything?

No. A 4K panel needs a chip that decodes the stream's format. Some budget 4K sets decode HEVC poorly, while some HD sticks plugged into a large TV do it well. If a channel has sound but no picture, the chip is the cause, not the size.

Which guide do I need, then?

  1. Find the platform in Settings → About on your TV.
  2. Open the matching guide: Android TV and Google TV sets, Fire TV, Samsung, LG, Chinese Android sets, Xiaomi, NVIDIA Shield or generic boxes.
  3. If your TV cannot install apps, use the web player in its browser or plug in a stick.

Questions and answers

Do I need special settings for a 75-inch TV?

No. The app's settings are the same on every size. On a large screen, an HD channel shows its limits more, because the TV enlarges the picture more.

Is a 4K TV needed for AromaOtt Player?

No. The player shows the stream as the provider sends it. A 4K TV upscales HD channels; an HD TV shows 4K streams downscaled, if its chip decodes them.

Why does my small kitchen TV play a channel that my big TV does not?

Because the two sets have different chips and firmware, not different sizes. Check which platform each runs and follow that guide.
