aromaott.com/apk is the short address you type on a TV to download AromaOtt Player. Typed into the Downloader app on a Fire TV or an Android TV, it leads straight to the current APK, so the download starts at once and you never have to type a long file name with the remote.
Why is there a short address?
Typing with a TV remote is slow: every character means moving across an on-screen keyboard. The full download link contains the version number and changes with every release, so it is long and easy to get wrong. The short address is only a few characters long, never changes and always gives you the release that is current on aromaott.com/app.
How do I use it on a Fire TV or Android TV?
- Install the free Downloader app on the TV (Amazon Appstore on Fire TV, Google Play on Android TV and Google TV).
- Allow Downloader to install apps in the TV's settings. The install articles for each device show the exact menu.
- Open Downloader and select the address box.
- Type aromaott.com/apk and select Go.
- The download starts by itself. When it is done, select Install, then Open.
- When Downloader offers to delete the file, you can do it: the app stays installed.
You do not need to type https:// or www. Downloader adds what it needs.
What does the address actually do?
It is a redirect on aromaott.com. When a device asks for /apk, the site answers with the address of the APK named in the current release information, and the device downloads it from aromaott.com. Nothing else is involved: no third-party file host, no shortener service.
If no release is published at a given moment, the address sends you to the aromaott.com/app page instead, which explains what to do.
Is there also a Downloader code?
Sometimes. The /app page has a box called Type in Downloader. It normally shows aromaott.com/apk, but the operator can set a short numeric Downloader code instead, and then the page shows that code. Both lead to the same file. Use whichever the page shows.
How do I know I got the right file?
- The file comes from aromaott.com and is named like
aromaott-2.2.4.apk. - The version number shown on aromaott.com/app next to the download button is the one you receive.
- Once installed, Settings → About in the app shows the version and edition.
Every later update is downloaded by the app itself, again only from aromaott.com, and checked before it is installed.
Can I use it on a phone or a computer?
On an Android phone or tablet, aromaott.com/apk downloads the same APK as the button on /app. Most people find the /app page easier on a phone, because it also shows the install steps.
On a computer, the address downloads the APK file to the computer, which is only useful if you want to copy it to a device by hand. Usually it is simpler to open aromaott.com/app and scan the QR code with your phone.
On an iPhone, iPad or Samsung or LG smart TV, an APK cannot be installed. Use the web player in the browser instead.
What if Downloader shows an error?
- Address not found: check the spelling, aromaott.com/apk, with a slash and no spaces.
- The page opens but nothing downloads: wait a few seconds; on a slow connection the redirect can take a moment. Then select Go again.
- Install is blocked: Downloader is not yet allowed to install apps. Turn it on in the TV's settings and try again.
- The download stops halfway: check the TV's network connection and start again; a partial file is not installed.
Do I need the short address for updates?
No. Once AromaOtt Player is installed, it checks aromaott.com for a newer version every time it starts and offers to install it. The short address is only for the first installation, or if you ever need to install the app again from scratch.
