To install AromaOtt Player on a Fire TV Stick, turn on developer options, install the free Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore, allow Downloader to install unknown apps, then type aromaott.com/apk in Downloader and select Go. Select Install, then Open, and sign in with a code from your phone. You need a Fire TV Stick of the 2nd generation or newer.
What do I need?
- A Fire TV Stick (2nd generation or newer) or a comparable Fire TV device.
- An AromaOtt member account, activated by the operator.
- Your phone, to approve the TV sign-in code.
AromaOtt Player is not in the Amazon Appstore. Downloader is only used to fetch the file from aromaott.com.
How do I install it, step by step?
- Turn on developer options. On the Fire TV, go to Settings → My Fire TV. If you do not see Developer options there, open About and press OK seven times on your device name until a message says you are a developer.
- Install Downloader. On the home screen, search for Downloader and install it from the Amazon Appstore. It is free.
- Allow Downloader to install apps. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps and turn it on for Downloader. On older models the switch is called Apps from Unknown Sources → On.
- Download the app. Open Downloader, type aromaott.com/apk in the address box and select Go. The download starts by itself.
- Install. Select Install, then Open.
- Tidy up. Downloader offers to delete the downloaded file. You can: the app stays installed.
If the /app page shows a Downloader code, you can type that short code in step 4 instead of the address.
How do I sign in on the Fire TV?
- The app shows a sign-in code of 8 characters and a QR code.
- On your phone, scan the QR code or open aromaott.com/activate and type the code.
- Check the device name and country shown on the phone, then choose Yes, sign in.
- The Fire TV signs in by itself.
The code is valid for 10 minutes. If it expires, select Get a new code. You can also type an activation code with the remote, or your username and password.
How do I find the app after installing?
Fire TV lists newly installed apps with your other apps, where AromaOtt Player shows its own banner. You can move it to the front of your apps row with the Fire TV's usual app options, so it is always one click away.
Does the remote work in the app?
Yes. The arrow keys move around, OK opens, Back goes back, and play/pause works in the player. In full-screen Live TV, Up and Down change channel, and you can browse categories and channels without leaving full screen. Long-press OK on a channel, a movie or a series to add it to My List.
How do updates work on Fire TV?
The app checks aromaott.com for a newer version every time it starts and offers to install it. The first time, Fire OS may ask you to allow AromaOtt Player to install apps: turn it on and press Back. You do not need Downloader for updates. Updates come only from aromaott.com and are checked before they are installed.
What if something goes wrong?
- Install unknown apps does not list Downloader: open Downloader once, then look again.
- Downloader cannot open the address: check that you typed aromaott.com/apk without spaces.
- Picture stutters on an older stick: in Settings → Player, try a larger buffer size. Very old sticks may not decode every stream format.
- Sound but no picture on one channel: the stream may use a video format your stick cannot decode. See the article on that topic.
