To install AromaOtt Player on an Android phone or tablet, open aromaott.com/app on the device, tap "Download for Android", open the downloaded file and tap Install. If Android asks, allow your browser to install apps once. The app needs Android 7.1 or newer and an AromaOtt member account to sign in.

What do I need before installing?

  • An Android phone or tablet with Android 7.1 or newer.
  • An AromaOtt member account, activated by the operator, or an activation code you received with your access.
  • A few megabytes of free space. The current file size is shown on aromaott.com/app next to the version number.

The app is not in Google Play. You download it directly from aromaott.com, which is also where it gets its updates.

How do I install it, step by step?

  1. On your phone or tablet, open aromaott.com/app in the browser. You can also open the page on a computer and scan the QR code with the phone's camera.
  2. Tap Download for Android. The browser downloads a file named like aromaott-2.2.4.apk.
  3. Open the downloaded file from the browser's download bar or from your Downloads folder.
  4. If Android says your browser is not allowed to install apps, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source (on some phones: Install unknown apps → your browser → Allow), then go back.
  5. Tap Install, wait a few seconds, then tap Open.
  6. Sign in with your username and password, or choose to enter your activation code.

That is all. The app opens on the home screen with Live TV, Movies and Series, showing only the sections your playlist has.

Is it safe to allow "install unknown apps"?

Android asks for this permission for any app that does not come from a store; it is a normal step for a direct download. The permission is given to one app (your browser), not to the whole phone, and you can turn it off again after installing.

Only download the APK from aromaott.com. Every update the app installs later comes from aromaott.com as well and is checked before it is installed; a damaged download is deleted instead of installed.

What happens the first time I open it?

After you sign in, the app shows a loading screen while your channels, movies and series are loaded, with a soft chime when they are ready. The next time you open it, the home appears at once from what is already on the device, with a small "Updating…" bar while it refreshes.

If your account has no playlist yet, the app tells you so. You can then wait for your provider to assign one, or, if your provider allows it, add your own M3U or Xtream playlist from the home screen or Settings.

Does it work on tablets?

Yes. Tablets get their own layouts: Live TV with categories and channels side by side in landscape, and a full-width column of channels in the player when the tablet is held upright.

What if the installation fails?

  • "App not installed": an older test build with a different signature may be on the device. Uninstall it, then install again.
  • The file does not open: open it from the Downloads folder instead of the notification.
  • Not enough space: free some space and try again.
  • Android older than 7.1: the app cannot run on that device. Use the web player in the browser instead.

How do I sign in on the phone?

You can type your username and password, or tap the option for an activation code and type the 8-character code you received (for example ABCD-EFGH; the dash is optional). If two-step sign-in is on for your account, the app then asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

If your account is already used on as many devices as it allows, the app lists those devices and lets you sign one of them out to continue on this one.
