Diagnostics, under Settings → About → Diagnostics in the AromaOtt Android app, shows what your device fetched and played: the active playlist, how each list loaded and your last ten plays. It never shows passwords or full addresses. Select Copy and send it with your question, and whoever helps you sees at once where things went wrong.

Where do I find it?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select About. It shows the app version, the edition, the device and the theme.
  3. Select Diagnostics.

Diagnostics is in the Android app from version 2.2.3, on phones, tablets and TVs. On a TV, Back closes it.

What does it show?

Three parts:

Playlist: the active line's host (server name only), its formats and its maximum connections when the provider reports them.

Lists: for each list (Live TV, Movies, Series, with their categories):

  • where it came from: the device, the device's cache, or our server;
  • the result, how long it took, how many entries and how much data;
  • the error, if there was one.

Last plays: the last ten things you played, each with:

  • the host and whether it went through the device or our server;
  • the format (for example MPEG-TS or HLS);
  • the outcome and the provider's HTTP code;
  • when it started, how many times it stalled and how many times it reconnected.

When nothing has been recorded yet, it says Nothing recorded yet.

How do I read it?

A few patterns are common:

What you see What it usually means
A play with HTTP code 511 or 403 via server The provider refuses our server: see direct play
HTTP 403 via device The provider refuses this device: the line may be expired or locked
HTTP 458, 429 or 509 The line is busy: another device uses its connection
Many stalls and reconnects An unsteady connection or stream: try a larger buffer
A list with 0 entries or an error The provider did not answer properly; try Reload later

How do I share it?

  1. Select Copy. The player says Copied.
  2. Paste it into your message to whoever manages your account, in the same channel you received your access from.
  3. Add what you did and when: the channel or title, and the time.

You can select Clear to empty the record, then reproduce the problem once, so the copy only contains what matters.

Is it safe to share?

Yes. Diagnostics shows host names only: never your password, your username in an address, or full stream addresses. It is a record kept by the app on your device, and you decide whether to copy it into a message.

What else helps when I ask for help?

  • The version and edition from Settings → About.
  • Whether the problem happens on one channel or all, on one device or every device.
  • Whether the same playlist plays in the web player or on another device.
  • A screenshot of any message the player shows.

Is there a Diagnostics screen in the web player?

No. In a browser, note the message the player shows and which browser you use. The player's messages are written to tell you the cause, for example that the provider refused the stream or that the browser cannot open an http address.

Who gives support?

AromaOtt Player is used by members of an operator, and support comes from whoever manages your account. The player has no content of its own, so questions about what a playlist contains go to the provider of that playlist.
